Amager Gospel Choir started in 2006 as part of Købnerkirken. We began with 30 singers, which quickly grew to many more. Since then, Amager Gospel Choir has been a regular part of our weekly activities and currently consists of about 130 singers. The choir is known for its great energy, passion, and strong sense of community. Our purpose is to share joy and life through gospel music and the Christian message in the songs. This happens through rehearsals, concerts, worship services, and other charitable events.

The choir’s musical leadership consists of two of Denmark’s gospel profiles:

• Laura Kjærgaard – the choir’s conductor, a phenomenal teacher and artist.

• Niels Engell – the choir’s pianist, with many years of experience and collaborations with several major artists.

Amager Gospel Choir rehearses every Tuesday from 7:00–9:30 PM.

 

Want to join?
We usually admit new members in January and August each year, if there is space in the choir. You can contact us at teammemberlink@gmail.com to check availability. There is no audition required to sing in the choir, but it is expected that you have a positive attitude toward the lyrics we sing and respect the message of the songs.

It is also important that, as a choir member, you attend rehearsals as regularly as possible and participate in most concerts.

Price: DKK 850 per half-year.
